The rivalry between Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal is something many MMA fans know well by now. The two were once close friends and trained together at the same place. However, they eventually started hating each other.
The two even had a fight against each other at UFC 272. Prior to the event, rapping sensation Drake bet $275,000 on Jorge Masvidal to defeat Covington in their welterweight grudge match.
In the end, Colby Covington won the fight via unanimous decision. Due to this, Drake ended up suffering a massive loss of $275,000. Masvidal offered to buy Drake dinner once he is in Miami again.
While speaking on Full Send Podcast, Colby Covington was asked whether he was annoyed by Drake for betting against him. Covington simply dragged Drake for what he did.
“I mean, how do you put your money on ‘Phoney Montana?’ Come on, Drake. Like, you’re better than that. Like, how did Drake even become something? Wasn’t he like some little boyhood star in Canada or something like that, isn’t that? Like, come on. There’s nothing gangster about that, Drake. You’re soft, bro. You’re not a gangster.
I used to like [him] until he bet against me. So, now, you know, it’s war.”
Jorge Masvidal also recently pleaded not guilty to his aggravated assault charges after attacking Colby Covington. We will keep you updated on this ongoing case.
