Players on the field can get frustrated at times given the pressure they play under, and at the same they have to please the audience. Sometimes, however, it doesn’t go very well, and they find themselves taking their anger out on fans. One such incident happened with Kevin Durant recently.

Kevin Durant’s foul mouth just cost him a hefty fine for yelling at a fan sitting at courtside. Durant told the fan to “You gotta shut the f*** up and sit down.” The league announced the punishment for KD on Friday afternoon and released the statement quoted below.

Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant has been fined $25,000 for directing obscene language toward a fan, it was announced today by Byron Spruell, President, League Operations.

The incident took place with 9.4 seconds remaining in the second quarter of the Nets’ 113-111 loss to the Dallas Mavericks on March 16 at Barclays Center.

The incident happened on Wednesday during Brooklyn’s game against the Dallas Mavs. As you can see in the clip below a fan provoked response from Nets superstar when he said “KD you gotta take this game over.”

Addressing the situation, Durant quoted tweeted the clip containing his foul response that just cost him $25000 and wrote, “Damn smh.” along with a symbolic meme of a girl forking over cash.
