Paige VanZant has gone from MMA star to AEW wrestler in training. The former UFC fighter recently signed with Tony Khan’s company and has been training as a professional wrestler. VanZant has been featured on AEW television a lot lately. Paige is a well-known name from the world of combat sports and has been getting good heel reactions during her entire AEW run.

The staff members of the Transportation Security Administration do not seem to be Paige VanZant fans. An embarrassing but hilarious story came out of Paige’s travels to San Antonio for this week’s AEW Dynamite. Paige was married to MMA fighter Austin Vanderford in 2018.

That means that Paige’s legal name is Paige Vanderford. On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about how this caused some major confusion as VanZant tried to make it to Texas. The result was a humiliating moment for Paige.

“Did you hear the Paige story? From her flight in? OK, so Paige is going to San Antonio for her flight and the AEW people sent her ticket. So, I guess Dan Lambert was flying her in before, but the AEW people sent a ticket for Paige VanZant and her identification says Paige Vanderford because that is her real name, because she’s married to Austin Vanderford who was in there doing ground and pound on Wardlow, by the way, too.

So, she actually had trouble getting on her flight although she tried to explain to people who she was. So, she goes in and takes out her computer to show that, in fact, Paige VanZant and Paige Vanderford are the same person. So, she Googles her name, Paige Vanzant, and the first thing she sees with those employees there is, ‘Paige VanZant Does A Sex Tape With Her Husband,’ so she was pretty embarrassed.

But she did get on the flight and there was no problem. Rather than having to Google this again, she had her mother send her marriage certificate. So, she will be taking that to airports going forward or she’ll get AEW to issue tickets in the name Paige Vanderford. The funny part is that she’s there with Austin Vanderford, probably on the same flight.”

Paige VanZant won’t have to undergo such an embarrassment on her next flight. Now that she has her paperwork in order, it should be smooth sailing. It was a tough lesson about the world of life on the road.
