Jussie Smollett found himself in hot water after being held guilty of lying to the Chicago cops about being a victim of a racist and homophobic attack. He faced charges of disorderly conduct for providing false reports to the police officials. Freddie Gibbs agrees with the jury’s verdict and believes Smollett belongs to Jail.

The 39-year-old rapper does not have a lot of sympathy for Smollett. TMZ recently got hold of Freddie and asked him about Smollett’s five-month jail sentence that he recently began serving in Chicago. Gibbs said, ‘The Empire’ actor belongs to jail for breaking the law, plain and simple.

Gibbs denounces any special treatment for the actor, noting that Smollett must be in Jail like any other person who attempts to portray himself as a victim of a hate crime.

Freddie does not find Smollett’s jail sentence to be as harsh as he claims. He discards Jessie’s narrative that Judge handed him a strict punishment because he is black. Instead, Gibbs believes Smollett should be set free in 3 to 5 years.

Gibbs’ opinion comes in sharp contrast to Taraji P. Henson, who came out in complete defense of her co-star. Comparing Jesse’s case to Emmett Till’s, ‘The Empire’ actress demands the actor must be released from jail.
