The massive spike in death toll due to the coronavirus has been put to a halt. That doesn’t mean the virus is completely gone. The world is continuing to feel the effects of COVID-19. Now a beloved former U.S. President is afflicted. Thankfully, Barack Obama is vaccinated.

Former U.S. President Barack Obama took to Twitter on Sunday to announce that he has tested positive for the virus. Obama, who is 60, said he has a scratchy throat for a couple days but is feeling fine otherwise.

I just tested positive for COVID. I’ve had a scratchy throat for a couple days, but am feeling fine otherwise. Michelle and I are grateful to be vaccinated and boosted, and she has tested negative.

It’s a reminder to get vaccinated if you haven’t already, even as cases go down.
