Jussie Smollet’s trial resulted in a 150-day sentence. He will spend time in protective custody, and now a new mugshot has been circulating online. The actor’s legal team has requested “protective custody.” He has also been charged with compensation and a fine.

Jussie has been sentenced to 150 days in jail and 30 months of felony probation because of his staged hate-crime reported to the Police Department of Chicago in January 2019. As reported by TMZ, the actor and his legal team have requested “protective custody” while he is in jail. He has also been charged with a fine of $25000 and a hefty compensation of more than $120,000.

After Jussie’s sentencing on Thursday morning, he was immediately taken into custody. He said that if anything goes wrong while he’s in custody, he wants everyone to know that he is not suicidal and he didn’t do anything to himself.

Smollet has actually been under the court’s observation for the past couple of years ever since Chicago PD ran an investigation into Jussie’s claims of being attacked by two men. Soon after that police took two brothers in and shortly it was revealed that the whole situation was staged by Justin and he had hired the brothers.

According to Smollet and his lawyers, “nothing is further from the truth and anyone claiming otherwise is lying.” Smollet still tries to disagree but the deeper the police investigated, the more evidence started appearing against Smollet.

When this incident went public, Smollet found himself in trouble with the celebrities. Charlamagne that God, 50 Cent, Cardi B, and many more took an issue with his hoax. He was also mocked in a parody movie, Black Pranksters. Towards the end of 2021, Jussie had been awaiting a sentence after being found guilty.

During his hearing yesterday, Smollet continued to say that he is innocent. While under protective custody, a Cook’s County Sheriff confirmed with TMZ that Jussie is going to be monitored by guards and cameras and will be allowed to use common areas as long as other inmates are not around.
