Conor McGregor fractured his ankle at the end of the first round of his UFC 264 fight against Dustin Poirier. Since then McGregor has been on a path of destruction that resulted in McGregor saying a lot of controversial remarks. It seems Michael Chandler commented on Conor McGregor possibly getting a title shot as well.

The Notorious One has been hard at work recovering from his injury over the past several months and has noticeably bulked up in anticipation of his return, though Dustin Poirier thinks he looks puffy. McGregor also never won a single fight in 2021.

Conor McGregor recently made it clear that he wants a shot at Charles Oliveira’s UFC Lightweight Championship once he returns to the Octagon and fans got excited about it as well.

While speaking to The Schmo, Michael Chandler talked about Conor McGregor getting a title shot upon his return to the UFC. Chandler believes McGregor getting a title shot is best for business.

“This is the fight game, but even more than that it is the fight business. If it makes good business, it makes good sense. In a lot of ways, Conor’s still the biggest name to ever hit the sport of mixed martial arts – definitely of all time as of right now, and maybe of all time in the future. We may never see another Conor again. So, I think the sport is better when Conor McGregor is in it. The lightweight division is better when Conor McGregor is in it. Luckily, our names are in similar areas. I would like that fight down the line.”

Dana White also previously said that Conor McGregor is nowhere near for a UFC Title fight just yet. Conor McGregor will likely make his return by the Summer of this year, especially in July. It remains to be seen whether Conor McGregor will get a title shot or not once he is back.
