Magic Johnson is a highly supportive and former president of basketball operations for the Los Angeles Lakers. Whenever it comes to players’ supportiveness, fans will find Magic at that place. Recently Russell Westbrook’s Death Threats Inspired Magic Johnson and he came up with a reaction.

Russell Westbrook and his entire family have recently been threatened with death. Lakers fans have been harsh on Russ after a streak of poor performances, and it’s now getting far deeper than basketball for him. Westbrook, at the end of the day, just wanted to play the game he loves, and things are starting to get difficult for him right now.

“I 100% stand behind my wife and… it’s not just about this year. Right now, she’s reached a point and my family has reached a point to where it’s really weighing on them and it’s very unfortunate just for me personally because this is just a game. This is not end all be all. When it comes to basketball I don’t mind the criticism of missing and making shots but the moment it becomes where my name is getting shamed, it becomes an issue.”

Following his weekend criticism of Russ, Magic Johnson took to Twitter to express his support for the Lakers point guard. Magic believed that right now all need to show some compassion and that at the end of the day, Russ is still a terrific basketball player.

“Russell plays an important role on the @Lakers team and will be a key component to the success of the rest of the season and the NBA Playoffs. Let’s do better, rally around the Westbrook family, and support them. @russwest44.”

We all hope Russell will quickly recover from his worst time and return to his usual life. Russell is receiving a lot of support from his fans, who are hoping that nothing terrible will happen. For further updates stay tuned to Thirsty.
