Nas is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential hip-hop artists of all time. Nas was having a good time until he got into trouble for his did. Fans may have seen that Nas uploaded a photo of Tupac Shakur a few days ago. Unfortunately, Nas got sued by the photographer for sharing Tupac Shakur’s photo on Instagram.

When it comes to his photographs, renowned Hip Hop photographer Al Pereira doesn’t mess around. Many photos have been widely shared on social media without attribution, but Pereira has made it clear that his shots are not for sale. He previously sued Kylie and Kendall Jenner for allegedly using his images of Tupac Shakur, Biggie Smalls, and Redman without his consent. He just filed a similar complaint against Nas, according to Radar Online.

Pereira photographed Nas and Tupac while they were hanging out in New York’s Club Amazon in July 1993. After republishing the image in 2017, Pereira apparently registered for copyright, and Nas claimed to have shared it on his Instagram profile in 2020.

Although it appears to be a minor matter, Pereira filed a federal complaint against the Grammy-winning rapper on February 2. According to documents, Pereira is not only enraged that Nas did not seek permission “or license the work,” but he also accused Nas of “profiting from the work” and “using it to promote his social media status.”

Pereira apparently makes a fortune by selling art licenses, and because Nas freely put the image online, the photographer claims that the artwork has lost some of its worth. At this time, it’s unknown what kind of damages Pereira is seeking. The lawsuit has elicited no public response from Nas. For further updates stay tuned to Thirsty.
