Mitchell Ryan is not a name that most movie and television fans would immediately recognize. Most of them have enjoyed his work, though. Ryan has an impressive resume that dates to the 1950s. Michell has sadly passed away at the age of 88.

Former costar Kathryn Leigh Scott shared the news on her Facebook page. The two co-starred on the long-running TV series Dark Shadows in the 60s and 70s. Scott was heartbroken by the loss.

“My sweet, beloved friend Mitch died early this morning.He was a great gift in my life. I cherish my warm memories of his beautiful soul. I’m heartbroken.”

A cause of death for Mitchell Ryan has not been released. At 88 years old, it could have been any number of things. Kathryn L. Scott shared several photos of the two actors over the years.

Mitchell Ryan is most famous for his role as the villainous General Peter McCallister in the hit buddy cop movie Lethal Weapon. Ryan has also appeared in Liar Liar, Grosse Point Blank, Judge Dredd, and a slew of other television and film productions.

It is a sad say as the world has lost a Hollywood fixture. Mitchell Ryan was one of the unsung heroes of the silver screen for decades. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends in this very difficult time.
