Camila Cabello just released a teaser for her new song, “Bam Bam,” and after hearing the lyrics her fans are thinking that the single references her ex, Shawn Mendes. There are quite a few convincing clues for this.

After Camila released a teaser on 27 February, on TikTok, fans and followers believe that it was about her ex, Shawn Mendes.

There are a lot of clues that justify that the song was actually regarding her ex, for example, the song opens with, “You said you hated the ocean but you’re surfin’ now.” And Mendes once said Jimmy Fallon his “biggest fear is deep water”. Camila also said in the song, “I said I’d love you for life but I just sold our house.” and indeed she sold their house in Los Angeles for a price of $4.3 million in December.

In another part of the song Camila said that “We were kids at the start, I guess we’re grown ups now.” and people who have been following both of them for quite some time know that their relationship started when they were teens.

While talking about their old performance on a 2019 episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Cabello said, “We were stupid. I think we both had a crush but we were, like, I don’t know, being babies about it. But we’re grown now.”

And as the song continues it says, “Couldn’t ever imagine even having doubts, but not everything works out,” Cabello sings. “Now I’m out dancing with strangers. You could be casually dating. Damn it’s all changing so fast. Así es la vida si.”

Camila was not alone to drop a song that referred to her ex, Shawn in December released “It’ll Be Okay” and the lyrics were, “I start to imagine a world where we don’t collide. It’s making me sick, but we’ll heal and the sun will rise. If you tell me you’re leaving, I’ll make it easy. It’ll be okay. If we can’t stop the bleeding, we don’t have to fix it. We don’t have to stay. I will love you either way.”

Camila Cabello’s new song, “Bam Bam” which officially drops on March 4 also features Ed Sheeran. Fans can’t stop talking about the new single. One follower tweeted, “Isn’t really about shading Shawn, I feel like it’s more about how sometimes things don’t work the way you want in life and you need to move on. BUT GIRL- CAMILA!! THE LYRICS OH MY LAWD.”

It was heartbreaking indeed Camila and Shawn break up.
