2K Games has a lot to prove with their upcoming WWE2K22. The last entry into the series of wrestling games was an absolute disaster. Bugs and visual glitches plagued the release to the point where it was nearly unplayable. This could be 2K’s last chance to get it right with the lucrative WWE license.

The hype began last month when 2K Games released a trailer showing off the game’s redesigned engine. Initial optimism eventually turned to mockery as screenshots from the gameplay footage showed shoddy-looking character models. Many gamers are still skeptical that 2K can pull off a quality release.

Another new feature in the game was announced today. In a tweet from WWE Games, a video showing off the revamped MyGM mode was shared. The popular GM mode is a staple of sports games and a favorite of players who want to simulate the business end of pro wrestling.

“Step out of the ring and into the boss’s chair! #WWE2K22’s MyGM mode makes YOU a @WWE General Manager so you can feel the power, call the shots, plan the shows, and make your brand the BEST brand. #ItHitsDifferent”

The MyGM mode trailer promises that this time, players can call the shots. A voiceover by Stephanie McMahon hinted that online play will allow gamers to compete with friends who control rival brands. Steph also implored players who wanted to be successful to choose her.

The mode includes various booking options, including premium live events, rivalries, run-ins, and more. The goal is to make your show the most successful brand. Fans will get their first look at the new MyGM mode in WWE2K22 when the game releases on March 11.
