James Harden was introduced to the media and fans in his new home of Philadelphia. Harden was traded to the 76ers in an NBA deadline deal that moved the embattled Ben Simmons to the Brooklyn Nets. Harden has big ambitions for his stint in the City of Brotherly Love.

The assembled media had plenty to talk about with Harden. One of the questions he was asked was whether he believed the Sixers could win an NBA Championship. Harden said that’s the reason he came, according to NBA.com.

“Hell yeah. My job is to help the team win a championship.”

James Harden indicated throughout his introduction that he is feeling confident and believes Philadelphia is the perfect fit. James hit all the right beats for Philly fans who are starving for a title. The date of his debut was also announced. Harden will join the team on February 25 at Minnesota.

Joel Embiid is one of the existing pieces Philadelphia had hoped would lead them to championship glory. Harden said he is extremely excited to play with him. The two complement each other perfectly.

Harden has been humble about his role, as well. James said he understands that Philadelphia already has an incredible team in place. He’s just here to play his role. That attitude combined with good chemistry could make the Philadelphia 76ers the favorites to come out of the Eastern Conference.
