Eminem performed in what many are calling the greatest Super Bowl halftime show in years. Super Bowl LVI brought out all the stops, as Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar, and Mary J. Blige put on a spectacle for the ages. The most successful rapper of all time once again proved he is worthy of his star power and clout.

When most people think of Eminem meeting someone, they probably envision a fan who is completely hyped to see a music legend. Backstage at the Super Bowl, Eminem flipped that script. Shady got a chance to meet legendary sports broadcaster, Al Michaels.

Eminem was not shy about expressing his admiration for Michaels. The Detroit native told Al that he was a part of his life since he was a little kid. Snoop Dogg caught the entire moment on video for Instagram.

“Ah, thank you. You’re the G.O.A.T., man. You’re the G.O.A.T. I’m telling you, I was telling your wife like since I was a little kid all the way till now. I watched shit games when you’re doing them just because, right, and there’s a rumor that you might retire. I’ll be sad, OK.”

Al Michaels called Eminem “best in show” after the performance. There is a ton of mutual respect between the two. It makes sense as they are among the absolute best at what they do.

It’s rare to see Eminem fanboying so hard. When you’re one of the biggest celebrities in the world, it’s easy to forget what it was like to be a fan. Eminem never lost that childhood spirit.
