Coi Leray is one of the industry’s newest rappers. Coi was determined to make an impression at the Rolling Loud show in Miami. There is worrisome news for Coi’s fans, because recently Coi revealed a shocking message to her fans that ‘Don’t know when I’ll be back but I don’t even want to think about it.’

Coi Leray, a 2022 HipHopDX Rising Star, feels that she has failed her fans after months of hyping her upcoming debut album and has decided to take a break. On Tuesday, February 15, the California-bred rapper took to Twitter to send a semi- shocking departure message to her “trendsetters,” and then stated she’s putting her career on hold for the time being.

“To all my trendsetters, I’m sorry I let you down. I don’t have it in me to keep pushing. I feel like I’m brain dead. I pray that everyone continues to keep setting trends and striving. Don’t know when I’ll be back but I don’t even want to think about it. I love you for life.”

The frightening tweet comes only days after Coi stated that A Boogie wit da Hoodie will appear on her album and expressed her excitement for listeners to hear it.

“Old A boogie is undefeated, I need that anger back. He in his BAGGGGGG on my album sheesh can’t wait till y’all hear this @mustard.”

Coi’s tweet comes just a few weeks after the release of her new tracks “Medicine” and “Anxiety.” The latter single, which was released on January 28, was intended as a direct response to all of the harassment she had already faced in 2022. She was likened to fellow female rapper DeJ Loaf on Twitter before the single’s release, and she found the comparisons painful. She was also a victim of online trolls’ body shaming in 2021, and she had to defend herself against those attacks.

So, Coi is taking a break from the industry. Hope the young rapper will be back soon. For further updates stay tuned to Thirsty.
