Eric Weddle retired two seasons ago. The defensive back was content with his career despite never getting a Super Bowl ring. As time went on, the hunger came back.

Weddle decided to give it one more go with the Los Angeles Rams. The gamble ended up paying off as the Rams defense relied on Weddle for four tackles on their way to becoming Super Bowl champions. Eric Weddle was proud to be able to say, ‘Mission accomplished.’

In his post-game remarks, Eric Weddle confirmed that he would once again retire from the NFL. The only difference is that this time, he’s going out on his terms. Eric is ending his career on top.

“Yes, I’m re-retiring. I’ll go back to my daily life. Pretty banged up right now, but hey, it’s well worth it. Well worth the moment.

I have a lot of time to recover. World champs, man.”

After thirteen seasons of, ‘Maybe next year,’ Weddle thought the day would never come. Now that it has, he can end his career on a satisfying note. Eric Weddle’s living every football player’s dream.
