Just a few weeks ago, it was confirmed that popular Netflix show Squid Game will be renewed for season 2. N0w reports emerge about the show’s future beyond season 2. It appears there is a lot more to this story.

It’s been a few months since Netflix’s Squid Game took over social media with it’s cryptocurrency and now Complex reports that it won’t be long before the South Korean show makes headlines again. Back in November, director Hwang Dong-hyuk confirmed season 2 was already in works and now it’s being reported the creator is already discussing the possibility of a third season.

The story of Lee Jung Jae’s character Seong Gi Hun and the mysteries of the organization behind the game will take the center stage in the forthcoming season according to a recent interview given by Dong-hyuk. Hyuk revealed,

“The overarching plotline of Season 2 will be the story of the people that Gi Hun meets and the people he chases after.”

The director also shared details about season three. He said it’s likely that he and the streaming platform will reach some sort of conclusion to their discussion soon. The 50-year Seoul native acknowledged that after the show’s success many people are excited for the show to return to their screens and everyone involved with the project are working hard to ensure a quick return.

Following the conversation of Squid Game’s return in November, Dong-hyuk told the media, he already has the basic storyline and broad plan with the team being in the “brainstorming process.” He feels that with the success of season one it does not make sense to produce another one.

The creator joked if doesn’t deliver another season fans might start stalking him or “do something” to him. Although, he was unclear as to when the next season will drop.
