Kristin Davis, famously known for portraying Charlotte York, has been a fan favorite in the in Sex And The City franchise. She cemented her role in the series and we cannot think of any other person playing Charlotte. But it could’ve been a different story if she ended up in another show.

She has revealed that she could have landed a role in another iconic 90s franchise, as she actually auditioned for one of the lead role in Friends. The Emmy-nominated star previously auditioned for the role of Monica Geller in Friends. It was a huge pool for audition from which eventually Courteney Cox got selected.

Kristin told James Corden on how she auditioned for the role of Monica.

“I don’t think that we could say [I came] quite close, I think I was about one of, like, 8,000 young ladies who read for Monica. And Courteney Cox got her. One day Courteney was like, ‘Do you want to come car shopping with me? I’ve done this pilot and I feel really good about it and I think I’m going to buy a Porsche’. We were like, ‘Wow, is she for real?’ And it was Friends and it did go very well.”

Courteney and her used to go to the same yoga class. Most of the people in there would be either unemployed actresses or waitresses They would hang out from there and maintained a good relationship.

In fact, Courteney originally auditioned for the role of Rachel when she first tried out for Friends, though she eventually turned the part down as she thought she’d be a better fit for Monica. Although she wasn’t picked for Monica, Kristin Davis would eventually make a guest appearance in Friends.

We couldn’t be happier that life has turned out the way it is. Fans of both the shows would be thankful that both of them ended up at a place that would make their career. We cannot think of anyone else playing either Monica or Charlotte now that we have seen them for so long.
