JayDaYoungan could be facing up to five years behind bars. The Louisiana rapper was recently indicted in U.S. District course on federal firearms charges. The grand jury came to the conclusion to indict on Friday, December 3, 2021.

Jay, real name Javarious (or Javorious – both spellings are listed in court documents) Scott, allegedly had a 9mm handgun that crossed state lines on his person during traffic stop on October 29. According to Fox 8 Live, the rapper was not legally allowed to receive a firearm. This stemmed from Texas indictment where the rapper faces state charges related to drugs and assaulting a pregnant woman.

The October arrest came during a traffic stop. Police pulled over JayDaYoungan’s Audi after receiving a tip about a possible false plate on the vehicle. They found the car filled with marijuana smoke.

JayDaYoungan was unable to produce valid registration and insurance documents for the car. When he got out, police found a loaded Ruger 9mm pistol on the driver’s side floor. That was enough to initiate the indictment.
