Drake and Kanye West will take the stage together on December 9, 2021, to perform together. Months ago, fans could not have seen it coming. The duo will perform at the Free Larry Hoover Benefit Concert at the Los Angeles Coliseum. The beef was officially squashed in November.

Billboard talked to J. Prince about why Drake agreed to meet up with Kanye. The two hashed things in Toronto. Prince said they talked about the bigger picture.

“I painted the bigger picture to Drake. I let him know that this is a moment and movement that can save lives. I believe by Drake and Kanye being an example, as two of hip-hop’s top artists, that lives would be saved.

I believe this is going to be imitated and it’s important to be an example to those that look up to you and that meant something to Drake — just the life-saving event wrapped around putting the spotlight on injustice, prison reform, and my brother Larry Hoover. Everything is icing on the cake after that, because he never envisioned things like that. So I had to tap into a power greater than the anger or whatever these guys had for one another.”

J. Prince also discussed the huge stage plans Kanye has for the show. He says nearly the entire Coliseum will be covered with a mount reaching 50 feet in height. The buildout was shown while in progress on a video circulating on Twitter by CBS L.A.

Now that the beef is over, the two world famous rappers are coming together for a good cause. They hope that their activism can overcome any petty personal differences. For one night in L.A., that will be the case.
