Juliana Peña isn’t just showing up for a paycheck when she takes on Amanda Nunes at UFC 269. The fight, which takes place on December 11, 2021, is one of many on a stacked fight card. Nunes if a heavy betting favorite against the “Venezuelan Vixen.”

Peña recently talked to TMZ Sports about her thoughts on the upcoming bout. She said she thinks she can win. Juliana doesn’t want to just be another victory on Amanda Nunes’ ever-growing list.

“I feel like a lot of people are sleeping on me and they think I’m a sacrificial lamb but I definitely think that, you know, I know that I’m definitely not a sacrificial lamb and everyone loves an underdog…

I’m ready. I am in the zone. I have never felt more physically or mentally prepared in my life and it’s my time. It just feels so great to know that I have literally left no stone unturned. I’m ready to go. I’m in the zone!”

Juliana Peña is currently the #3 ranked bantamweight fighter in UFC. She’s been begging Nunes for a title shot for months. Her 10-4 professional record and victories over stars like Cat Zingano have allowed the veteran to catch the eye of UFC promoters.

Amanda Nunes thinks Peña is delusional. She enters the fight with an outstanding 21-4-0 record. She made Megan Anderson submit in the first round of her most recent fight at UFC 259.
