It seems like Colin Farrell is going to be attached to “The Batman” universe for quite some time.

It is no secret that the In Bruges actor will be seen as Oswald Cobblepot AKA The Penguin in Matt Reeves’s up-coming “The Batman”. The film is set to release on March 4, 2022 and will feature Robert Pattinson donning the mantle of The Caped Crusader fighting Farrell’s Penguin and other Batman villains on the streets of Gotham City.

Now, Variety has learnt that Farrell is also getting his own spin-off series which will center around the rise of The Penguin in Gotham. An earlier report revealed that the series has been in development since September and now, Farrell’s name has been attached to it.

Although, this news hasn’t officially been revealed by Warner Bros. or HBO Max. It is being said that Matt Reeves will also be involved with this project albeit as a producer.

Alongside The Penguin, another spin-off series from Reeves’s The Batman universe is also in development. This series will be a police drama and will revolve around the Gotham City Police Departments and their internal and external dealings.
