The Staples Center is Los Angeles’ center for big events and the LA Lakers’ home. That destination’s name will change very soon according to ABC7.

As part of a 20-year naming agreement deal. the new arena name will be Crypto.com. The logo has not been revealed yet, but it will take place on Christmas Day when the Lakers take on the Nets.

“To kick off the partnership, AEG and Crypto.com will unveil the new logo and other branding assets including internal arena signage of the newly named Crypto.com Arena on Christmas Day, when the Los Angeles Lakers host the Brooklyn Nets. All of the venue’s external signage will be replaced by June 2022.”

The Staples Center holds a special place in the hearts of many fans. Kobe Bryant made a ton of memories in that famous arena, but now fans will soon know the building by another name.

This decision will be hard to take for some fans, but it also isn’t anything new for corporate ownership of a venue to change. Still, when you’re talking about the Staples Center there will always be people who take it personally.

Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News opened the door for a new opportunity for Jenkins. With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
