Lada Gaga received the honor of performing the National Anthem at President Joe Biden’s January 2021 inauguration. Gaga is always thinking about how she can make a fashion statement. Recently, she discussed her inaugural look with British Vogue.

The famous dress, adorned with a golden dove representing peace, became one of many iconic pieces of Gaga style. She shared some of her all-time favorite looks in a video for Vogue. She explained the meaning of the dress in-depth. She revealed that the dress itself was bulletproof.

“This is one of my favorite things I’ve ever worn. I wore this Schiaparelli design for the inauguration, and nobody knows this, but this is a bulletproof dress.”

Lady Gaga said the centerpiece of the look was the dove. It symbolized the peaceful transition from the chaotic Presidential administration of Donald Trump to the more stoic, measured Biden. She knew the dove was perfect from the moment she saw it.

Gaga said performing at the inauguration was the greatest honor of her life. She said it represented moving on from a stressful time for a weary nation. She looks forward to sharing the moment with her children.

“Like many people in America, I felt a deep fear when Trump was president, and ushering 45 out and 46 in is something I’ll be able to tell my children all about.”

Lady Gaga received another unique honor recently. She joined legendary crooner Tony Bennett on stage for his final curtain. The emotion of the moment moved the singer to tears.
