Fans of the Michigan State could not contain their excitement after their team defeated Michigan in East Lansing on Saturday, burning couches and destroying at least one vehicle, according to TMZ.

Michigan dominated the game through three quarters. The first quarter saw Michigan take the lead with 10-0. The scorecard went 30-14 in the third quarter but Michigan State bounced back in the fourth quarter.

The final score was 37-33. Then madness ensued outside campus. The fans, super excited at their team’s win, set couches on fire. Someone did not notice that the couches were on fire and sat on one of the couch – and we do not need to explain what happened next.

The Detroit News reported on at least 20 fires that erupted around the city before 6 PM. Moreover, several students also smashed a vehicle as part of this uncontrolled celebration.

With the win over heated rivals Michigan, Michigan State are now 8-0 overall, and 5-0 in their conference. No other Big Ten team is undefeated. They’ll play Purdue next week in Indiana. Obviously that was cause for celebration.

RIP couches
