The Green Bay Packers broke out some retro jerseys today and the response has been overwhelming. Those new/old uniforms are pretty snazzy and the internet agrees.

Nostalgia is the name of the game and everyone from Disney to the NFL realizes that there is a lot of money to be had if you can sell something to someone that reminds them of something they used to have. The Green Bay Packers went a little further back than most to bring back this retro look.

The Packers donned 1950s style jerseys and the colors popped on the field. Plenty of fans are likely looking for those on the Packers’ official shop right now. We looked and it doesn’t look like they’re selling them just yet, but fan demand might cause them to stock those bad boys.

You can check out those jerseys in action below. We also included a variety of tweets from people who really seemed to enjoy the throwback look.

H Jenkins

Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News opened the door for a new opportunity for Jenkins. With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
