Delonte West has been arrested after a drunken incident with the police on Tuesday night. The 8-year retired NBA veteran was booked in Palm Beach County, Florida and held there until the next morning.

Records obtained by TMZ say that West was first stopped by the police after making a loud seen and banging on the doors of a Boynton Beach police station. West had open bottles of beer and liquor on him at the time.

Eventually, Delonte tried to leave the scene. The police ordered him to stop and talk to them. After he put down the drinks, West placed his hands inside his pants. Thinking he might be reaching for a weapon, one of the cops took out his taser.

Fortunately, the situation did not escalate. The police were able to get West to respond to verbal commands and were able to cuff him.

The police did say that West remained belligerent in the police car. Fortunately, nobody was injured. The report indicated that West appeared to be drunk and smelled like alcohol.

West was released from jail the next morning. He has an arraignment scheduled for next month. He has a history of substance abuse and was previously helped by Mavericks owner Mark Cuban. Delonte West joins a growing list of troubled NBA players, including Kyrie Irving and Ben Simmons.
