Grey’s Anatomy is currently one of the longest-running television shows out there, with its 17th season having ended a while ago. The show made its debut in 2005 and was a smash hit with fans and critics alike. It remains ABC’s most popular drama.

Throughout its duration, the show has featured several characters being killed off or actors leaving the show. It was reported earlier that fan-favorite Jesse Williams confirmed that he will be leaving the show and that happened on an important episode of the show. On top of that, even Greg Germann left the show as a series regular.

Kate Walsh was reported to be making her return to the show for its 18th season, much to the delight of fans. Sandra Oh left the show many years ago and made it clear she is never coming back.

While speaking to Jimmy Kimmel Live, Ellen Pompeo talked about the upcoming episodes of the 18th season of the show and claimed that it will pay homage to older seasons of the show via easter eggs.

“It was my idea to pay homage to many things and many different seasons and give the audience things to watch out for and to plant Easter Eggs.”

It remains to be seen how many homages the show will be able to pull off as long-time fans certainly want to feel rewarded for their dedication to the long-running series.
