Lorde remains one of the most unique singers in the music industry, who broke onto the scene after 2013’s Pure Heroine but truly established herself after 2017’s Melodrama.

She was also set to perform at MTV Video Music Awards next week, which certainly excited fans. Unfortunately, it seems Lorde will no longer be performing at the event in Brooklyn.

The Video Music Awards’ official Twitter handle took to Twitter and officially announced that Lorde will no longer be part of the show due to a change in production elements.

Due to a change in production elements, Lorde can no longer perform at this year’s show. We love Lorde and cannot wait for her to perform on the VMA stage in the future!

Lorde, who is nominated for one Moon Person at this year’s show, was scheduled to be at her first Video Music Awards since 2017, but it was not to be. She has also yet to comment on her removal from the show but it is likely she will comment soon enough.
