After months of anticipation, Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley finally faced each other in a boxing match on Showtime Boxing on August 29. The match also had an interesting bet placed, as both of them agreed that the loser would get a post-match tattoo proclaiming their love of their opponent.

To the surprise of many, The Problem Child not only managed to last 8 rounds in the match, he was also able to win the match via a split decision. This was not the outcome many expected whatsoever.

This came as a huge disappointment for fans who wanted to see Tyron Woodley decimate Jake Paul inside the boxing ring, but they did not get their wish.

In preparation for the fight, Tyron Woodley even trained with boxing legend Floyd Mayweather for a couple of days. It seems his training definitely helped him in the match for the most part.

While speaking to Ariel Helwani, Tyron Woodley talked about what Floyd Mayweather told him after his loss to Jake Paul. Mayweather apparently felt that Woodley defeated Jake Paul despite what happened.

“Floyd just said, you know, um, Floyd don’t like when I talk about a lot of technique and stuff that we work on. He’s really secretive with that. But it was some things that I did really well that he said I should have did more of. He did say just a little bit more output. He did feel like I won the fight. He said, ‘You know, I told you that he (Jake Paul) was going to be kind of scared of you. You’ve been there before’. He said, ‘He ain’t been hit with no sh** yet. We’re gonna see how he responds’. He said, ‘You’ve been hit with four-ounce gloves, and you can take it. Let’s see how he deals with that’.

So, kind of what he said to a T kind of played out, you know. Jake played it off, but he was hurt. He was running. He was clinching. I didn’t clinch him one time. I don’t know that my back was against the rope one time. There was very few times I should have been pressing forward. So, every single thing he said I was gonna do, that was gonna happen, he did.”

It is to be noted that Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley seemingly agreed to a rematch after the fight but nothing has been confirmed as of yet. It remains to be seen if the match will be made official soon enough.
