Kathy Griffin shocked and worried fans when she dropped a bombshell about having lung cancer. She never even smoked. Like anything else in the comedienne’s life, she is fighting this battle in a big way.

While talking to People, Griffin revealed that she already had surgery to take out the lung cancer. The two-time Emmy Award winner shared an update after having part of her left lung removed, and she’s feeling as good as she can. Thankfully, Griffin has Tylenol as her new best friend.

“To be honest, this cancer surgery was a little more than I had anticipated. Tonight will be my first night without any narcotic pain killers. Hello Tylenol, my new best friend!” she wrote on Instagram. “The last time I was in a hospital was in June 2020 when I tried to take my own life and overdosed on prescription pills.”

Griffin opened up her life on My Life On The D List, her reality television show that spanned 6 seasons. She also garnered millions of fans and became an advocate in the process. She starred in the 2019 documentary “Kathy Griffin: A Hell of a Story” as well. An award-winning film which detailed her experience after being “cancelled” for holding a bloody, decapitated Donald Trump mannequin head during a photo shoot.

Let’s get to know each other. Me? Well, I have a master’s degree in Journalism from Marshall University, but I don’t really like to talk about that. I was a stand-up comedian for eight years, but I don’t really like to talk about that either. I write a lot. I once worked for a company that writes blurbs for online gambling games. Those paid $.75 each. So, if you frequent that kind of thing, then you’re welcome for the description for Biker Chicken Slots or Crazy Granny’s Scratchers. I wish I had more to tell, but due to my crippling anxiety and Tourette’s Syndrome, that has become increasingly worse over the years, I tend to keep to myself.
