Khabib Nurmagomedov will always be regarded as one of the best UFC fighters to have competed in the MMA world. Khabib ended his career after his match against Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 in 2020.

His opinion certainly carries a lot of weight and that is not changing anytime soon. In the main event of UFC 264, Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor competed against each other in their trilogy fight, with many fans wondering who would win in the end.

When all was said and done Conor McGregor fractured his ankle at the end of the first round and Dustin Poirier was declared the winner via TKO after the fight ended due to doctor’s stoppage.

Khabib simply stated that good defeated evil when it came to his opinion of the fight. While speaking to MMA Junkie, Khabib said that Conor McGregor’s injury was an act of God and that he was made humble by God.

“You know, this fight shows us that there’s always gonna be something superior, more powerful than we are. Sometimes when people [think], ‘Oh I can do this because I’m smart, because I’m strong,’ God is always gonna make you humble.

Everything is from God. You have to be humble, you know. When you become rich, when you become strong, when you become famous, and then you think, ‘This is because of myself,’ God is gonna make you humble.”

There is certainly no love lost between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov, which is why what he said was not surprising. For now, Conor McGregor will have to reevaluate what he does and lick his wounds.
