CM Punk is a big NHL fan and commenting on that interest was the intention of this tweet, but WWE fans saw something totally different.

The former WWE Champion tweeted out a video recorded from his cell phone. This video was supposed to show fans that he is now following the Oilers. It was a clever message, but tons of fans saw something totally different.

The WWE app was spotted on the top of CM Punk’s home screen. It was also in a spot usually dedicated to apps that are frequently used for most people, right next to the Geico Mobile app on the top left corner of the screen. Also, this confirms that CM Punk has Geico insurance.

“CM Punk WWE return confirmed,” one fan tweeted in reply. “Sorry but the WWE app and HBO Go app that doesn’t work anymore stood out to me,” another responded. Other fans just made fun of the fact that so many people were making such a big deal out of this.

Yes, CM Punk has the WWE app, but that doesn’t mean he is going back to the company. He might just have that app on his phone so he can keep checking to make sure he’s still listed on the “alumni page” (he is). That won’t stop fans from commenting in a big way.

What’s your take on this situation? Are fans making a big deal about nothing? Sound off in the comments!

Let’s get to know each other. Me? Well, I have a master’s degree in Journalism from Marshall University, but I don’t really like to talk about that. I was a stand-up comedian for eight years, but I don’t really like to talk about that either. I write a lot. I once worked for a company that writes blurbs for online gambling games. Those paid $.75 each. So, if you frequent that kind of thing, then you’re welcome for the description for Biker Chicken Slots or Crazy Granny’s Scratchers. I wish I had more to tell, but due to my crippling anxiety and Tourette’s Syndrome, that has become increasingly worse over the years, I tend to keep to myself.
