John Cena was reportedly set for a SummerSlam match against Roman Reigns. Now it seems that might be up in the air thanks to a new project.

Variety reports that Cena is set to be a part of “Argyllle.” That film, starring Henry Cavill, Sam Rockwell, Bryce Dallas Howard, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, and Samuel L. Jackson, will see John Cena added to the lineup.

Shooting for the film will begin next month in Europe. That August 21st SummerSlam date might be hard for John Cena to make if he’s in Europe shooting that star-studded film.

There are strict quarantine measures in place when entering Europe. Some might say it will now be impossible for John Cena to make any appearances for WWE during the SummerSlam build since he is now attached to that big project.

Cena just wrapped up shooting for the Peacemaker HBO Max spin-off series. Some were hopeful for a WWE return, but now that seems to be up in the air.

With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
