Khabib Nurmagomedov will always be regarded as one of the best UFC fighters to have competed in the MMA world. Khabib ended his career after his match against Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 in 2020.
Since then there had been a lot of speculation regarding him returning to the UFC as he was still undefeated, with many believing he would come back to make his record an impressive 30-0. However, Dana White had confirmed back in March that the Russian fighter has retired for good.
Khabib has defeated both Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier in previous bouts. With McGregor and Poirier set to square off against each other at UFC 264 this weekend, it seems Khabib took to his Instagram stories and decided to troll both competitors. Khabib shared photos of himself choking out both McGregor and Poirier and had a very apt caption.
“Choke them out.
Khabib Nurmagomedov also shared a quote from former UFC two-division champion Henry Cejudo, who pointed out that McGregor vs. Poirier is not a fight between the two best lightweights in the division.
“It ain’t the best vs. the best. They’re two guys that just happen to be fighting for something because Khabib doesn’t want to fight. I’m convinced Khabib would beat both of them in one night.”
McGregor is certainly focused on his upcoming fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 on July 11th in their third fight together. We will have to see how will come out on top in the end.
