Soulja Boy is a pioneer in rap music who doesn’t get the credit he crows about deserving. That includes inventing the idea of phoning up a stack of Benjamins. He also has another bold phone claim to make.

The famous rapper spoke to Million $ Worth of The Game where he claimed to be the first rapper with an iPhone. Steve Jobs made sure that he got one of those new pieces of technology himself.

“I was the first rapper with the iPhone. It was ‘Crank Dat’ video shoot 2007. Steve Jobs and the Apple team came. I was in the swimming pool, doing the instructional dance. Showing the people how to do the dance. We was on the set of the ‘Crank Dat’ video. They came, they brought me the iPhone.”

“Steve Jobs himself came? Yes, Steve Jobs. And Apple, the whole team. They said this the first iPhone.”

He made those claims in a very calm and collective manner. There was no joking to his tone at all, but that didn’t stop some fans from thinking he was embellishing a bit.

Some fans thought that Big Draco was playing, but then he doubled down on that statement as he fired off a tweet saying: “1st rapper with the iPhone.” Now he has their attention. It seems that Soulja Boy’s influence was something that Apple targeted when trying to get the word out that they were breaking into the phone market.

With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
