The long-standing rivalry between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier remains one of the most highly discussed topics in the MMA world. The Notorious One isn’t one to back down from a fight and also to spare any expenses when it comes to talking trash to his opponents.
Notorious is always open to trash-talking his opponents but it seems in the past couple of years, he has not been able to back up what he’s been saying, as evident from his loss against Dustin Poirier earlier in the year.
Now it seems Dustin Poirier really isn’t fazed by what Conor McGregor can do. While speaking to ESPN MMA, Dustin Poirer was asked which kind of Conor McGregor will show up during fight week. According to Poirier, it really doesn’t matter to him.
“The good thing about this one is if it’s crazy Conor again, I really don’t care,” said Poirier. “And in the last one, too, if he would’ve been crazy, I would’ve been all right. Mentally, I’m not a kid anymore. I’m a grown man, and I know what matters, and I know what I can’t control, and I just don’t beat myself up mentally like I used to with the critics. So I think it’s gonna be crazy Conor again, I’m pretty sure.”
Dustin Poirier would then question just how crazy Conor McGregor can be after getting knocked out by him in their previous encounter.
“How crazy can you be? “You got knocked out last time out, you know? We put you on airplane mode in front of the world in Abu Dhabi. And what can you say?”
McGregor is certainly focused on his upcoming fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 on July 11th in their third fight together. Both of them currently have a win over the other, so we will have to see who will become the definite winner and have bragging rights. McGregor has a lot riding on the fight so he can’t afford to lose it no matter what.
