Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is one of the all-time greats in the world of professional basketball. James suffered a very nasty injury to his right ankle in the Lakers’ game against the Atlanta Hawks back in March and despite making a return, James simply hasn’t been the same since the injury.

However, it seems that hasn’t stopped LeBron James from having a good time with his friends. The Lakers star has currently landed himself in hot water for viral photos showing him partying with rapper Drake and other celebrity friends ahead of the Lakers play-in game against the Golden State Warriors.

Drake took to Instagram on Tuesday and uploaded a bunch of photos of himself partying with LeBron James, Michael B. Jordan and others. He also referenced James’ tequila brand in a post.

“Congrats to my brothers nothing like some Lobos to start your Monday off right,”

Perhaps the photos were not from this Monday as LeBron James is known to be a dedicated player and isn’t one to carelessly drink alcohol prior to the postseason, especially as he is still dealing with his ankle injury. Fans certainly didn’t like the fact that James was partying before the game.

“Lebron out here partying instead of getting ready for Curry.”

”This better not be recent. Bron better not be partying before the playoffs”

”Well there goes Bron’s chances”

Other fans also took issue with the fact that James was partying despite NBA’s very strict COVID-19 health and safety protocol, which has sidelined many top players this season, including Lakers guard Dennis Schroder.

“Hey NBA. Why isn’t LeBron in COVID protocol he’s out partying with Drake. If it was anyone else they’d be in protocols.”

“The NBA better test LeBron for COVID. Keep the same energy for [Caris LeVert] and no special treatment.”

The Lakers are set to play against the Warriors in the one-game play-in on Wednesday with the No. 7 seed on the line. We certainly hope James will be able to get back to form eventually and will help his team get back on track.
