Bill and Melinda Gates are splitting up, and that means plenty of people could be interested in stepping in to handle that heartbreak for the billionaires.

Tinder is doing what they can to make sure that people don’t fall for any Bill Gates scam. Impersonators are apparently popping up, but Tinder has a tool to stop those catfishers in their tracks.

In order to verify a Tinder profile, users must scan their face to make sure it matches their photos. Someone posing as Bill or Melinda Gates would almost certainly fail that task, unless they have a good enough mask.

Profiles are also reviewed and scanned for anything sketchy before going live. If someone tries to get through their system then other users can always flag the account and Tinder will take care of it.

A rep for Tinder told TMZ that “they do not yet have information available on how many fake Bill profiles have tried to launch since Melinda filed for divorce.”

Obviously catfishers have already started with the fake Bill and Melinda profiles. Don’t get caught in that net, because those two probably don’t need to resort to a dating app.
