Dexter starring Michael C. Hall became an instant hit with fans since its debut in 2006. Running for 8 seasons, it showed Hall’s character, Dexter, who was a deeply damaged serial killer that murdered other serial killers. The ending to season 8 left many fans disappointed and they lost hope for a new season.

It was then announced that season 9 will be airing this Fall and it will take place directly after the events of season 8. Original showrunner Clyde Phillips will be involved in the revival. Phillips left the show after Season 4, many of whom considered that the starting point for the show’s decline in quality.

Many fans have also been wondering if any of the original cast will be reprising their roles for the upcoming season. However, it seems that might not be the case. Dexter actor James Remar took to Instagram and uploaded a video, where he claimed that none of the original cast will be returning for Dexter season 9.

As a response to ahmedlamotta, Remar explained that he is not aware what Showtime has planned for the revival and that Remar will not be involved in it in any way. He added that the original cast wanted to return but wasn’t contacted by Showtime.

As the ninth season will not be taking place in Miami, it would make sense that any of the original cast members won’t be featured in the season. Perhaps the showrunners are keeping any appearances as a surprise until the show finally airs. We will have to see if the upcoming season will right all the wrongs done by season 8.
