WWE will not see a return of Ronda Rousey for a while now that she announced her pregagncy. She is the Baddest Woman On The Planet, and the company misses her. She is also known as “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey, a moniker she brought with her to WWE.

People reports, after getting a sneak peek at the upcoming Biography special for Roddy Piper, that Ronda Rousey revealed her own story about the legend. She received his blessing to carry on the Rowdy name, but he wanted to make sure she did it justice.

“When I first started doing MMA I was trying to think of a fight name and of course the first thing that everybody thought of was like ‘Rowdy’ Ronda Rousey. And it’s like I know, but it’s like, ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper already has that and I don’t want to steal it.”

“Until I happened to see the ‘Rowdy’ one and got his blessing and he was very sweet about it. He was like, ‘Sure kid, no problem. Better do the name proud’ or something like that.”

Roddy Piper was gone far too soon, passing away on July 31, 2015. He never got to see Rousey carry on his legacy in a WWE ring, but he was certainly watching from above.

Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News opened the door for a new opportunity for Jenkins. With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
