Gal Gadot has been part of the DCEU since 2017. While she gave her first appearance in the infamous Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2017 as Diana Prince, aka Diana Prince, she’s been featured in 5 DC movies (if we count Zack Snyder’s Justice League separately.)

While Wonder Woman’s first part was a major hit which ushered DC movies out of being critically panned for their lack of good material, Wonder Woman 1984 was critically mediocre, despite performing well on the box-office.

Gal Gadot recently spoke to Vanity Fair on a virtual awards season session where she revealed that both her and director Patty Jenkins felt like the DC heroine should be based on Princess Diana.

I remember watching a documentary about Princess Diana and there was a part where they said she was full of compassion and always cared for the people and that was like, ‘Ding, ding, ding,’ that should be the Wonder Woman we have. … How can you connect to a goddess that’s super strong and has it all and [is] super perfect? I wanted to show her vulnerabilities and heart.

Since Gal Gadot’s idea behind playing Wonder Woman was that she needed to be someone who was both powerful, strong and relatable, what better match than Princess Diana? Let us know whether you think Gal Gadot is doing a good job at being similar to Princess Diana or not down below in the comments.
