Alex Rodriguez is known for his work on the baseball diamond, but his money is about to get involved in some b-ball.

A-Rod is currently in negotiations to purchase the Minnesota Timberwolves basketball team. He isn’t going in along, because his business partner Marc Lore is on the deal as well.

The pair wrote a statement to confirm their interest in purchasing the organization.

“We look forward to entering this phase of the process with Glen Taylor. Our respect for him and the legacy he has built lays an amazing foundation for what is to come. We are excited by the prospect of getting to know the Timberwolves organization the talented team and their incredible fans.”

We’ll have to see if A-Rod gets into the NBA. Anything can happen in a big-money deal like that.

It’s not unheard of for athletes to take interest in sports outside of their primary profession. Alex Rodriguez has proved himself on the baseball field. He very well might get a chance to run an NBA team next.

Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News opened the door for a new opportunity for Jenkins. With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
