It is no secret that Post Malone has a lot of talent even outside of hip-hop. He even gave homage to a Pokemon song, and turned it into an indie rock tune. While performing in Texas, it seems that Post Malone has found a new appreciation for country music.

While the artist was performing for Matthew McConaghey’s Texas fundraiser titled WE’RE TEXAS: GIDDY UP TO GIVE BACK, Post Malone distanced himself to his hip-hop oriented sounds and focused on channeling the country musician within him. The show’s description on YouTube said “providing safety and critical resources to those affected by the devastating winter storms.”

After Steve Cold Steve Austin gave an appearance in the fundraiser, Post Malone closed the show with a wonderful cover of Brad Paisley’s “I’m Gonna Miss Her (The Fishin’ Song)”, after which Sturgill Simpson’s “You Can Have The Crown” followed.

While this is not how Post Malone usually rolls, but it was still nice to visit his childhood state of Texas with an acoustic guitar in his hands singing old tunes. You can watch the entire fundraiser here.
