Shaquille O’Neal knows a thing or two about taking care of those sore muscles. He also knows exactly where Icy Hot doesn’t go.

The NBA Hall of Famer recently talked to The Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend podcast where he told a very funny story. He accidentally burned his nuts with IcyHot, yes you read that correctly.

“I always used to see IcyHot in the locker room, and one day I kind of had like a thigh bruise, and the guy rubbed it, but he rubbed it too high.”

“During the game, my little guys started getting hot — like, really hot. Like, I thought something was wrong.”

“It got to the point where I was like, ‘Hey man, I think I need a doctor. My little guys are on fire.'”

Shaq left the court and things didn’t get better. He went straight to the showers and tried to wash himself, but that didn’t make it better. The water only spread the IcyHot around. After all, it’s not supposed to rub off when you sweat.

A janitor finally suggested that Shaq use milk to slow the burn. Surprisingly, that helped.

“So now I’m in the shower pouring milk on my boys and the guys coming in, they’re looking at me like, ‘What the hell are you doing?'”

The milk worked, so maybe you should keep that in mind the next time you dip into a jar of IcyHot, because things can go very wrong with that ointment.

With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
