Barcelona’s coach Ronald Koeman was recently called a “crybaby” by Sevilla director of football Monchi during last Saturday’s La Liga match between Barcelona and Sevilla.

It was a very intense match and got quite heated during the end of the match’s first half as Monchi made the claim that Barcelona’s team captain Lionel Messi should have received his second yellow card for a foul on Jules Koundé.

However, Messi was not given the card by referee Hernández Hernánde, which compelled Monchi to say:

“the crybaby’s statements have taken effect.”

According to Roger Torello at Mundo Deportivo, those words didn’t fail to reach Koeman, who simply gave a sarcastic thumbs-up in reply.

In the end, Barcelona were triumphant in victory as the end scoreboard was 2-0 in their favor. Messi and Ousmane Dembele scored one goal each for their team.

The two teams are expected to cross paths once again for the second leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final on Wednesday at the Camp Nou. We will have to see whether Sevilla will fare better in the upcoming match.
