The Kardashian family never fails to grab attention, even if it’s the Instagram CEO. Sisters Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner recently called out Instagram for significantly increasing the number of reels in their users’ feeds while limiting engagement on their posts. The CEO of Instagram has now responded to criticism of recent initiatives to promote more videos and suggested content.

Instagram CEO Adam Moressi reaffirmed the network’s commitment to supporting images in a video message to users recently. The activity on the platform is moving more and more to videos over time. In the recently posted video, Mosseri addressed the worries raised by Instagram users and stated that the social media platform has been experimenting with a lot of various modifications to enhance the user experience.

I need to be honest. I do believe that more and more of Instagram is going to become video over time. We see this even if we change nothing. We see this even if you just look at chronological feed. Now, I want to be clear: we’re going to continue to support photos. It’s part of our heritage, you know, I love photos and I know a lot of you out there love photos too. But we’re also going to need to evolve because the world is changing quickly and we’re going to have to change along with it.

The Wall Street Journal stated that Mosseri’s remarks came the day after Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner slammed the app. They both shared a popular Instagram post urging the social media network to “stop trying to be TikTok” as its rival app continues to gain popularity. Kylie Jenner shared a screenshot of another user’s post on her Instagram Stories yesterday, wishing for Instagram’s golden days as a photo-sharing platform.
