Tiger Woods recently announced that he’d never return to a full-time golf schedule. Almost ten months after his horrific car accident, Woods has announced his first public competition. He will be playing in next week’s PNC Championship with his son, Charlie Woods.

The car crash left Tiger with a very uncertain future. He suffered severe injuries to his right leg. Doctors nearly had to amputate the golf legend’s limb. Now, according to TMZ Sports, Tiger is ready to compete.

The 36-hole event will see Tiger and Charlie take on some of the sport’s biggest names. Jon Daly, Justin Thomas, and Bubba Watson have all signed on to play. Tiger said he’s happy to return with his son.

“Although it’s been a long and challenging year. I am very excited to close it out by competing in the PNC Championship with my son Charlie. I’m playing as a Dad and couldn’t be more excited and proud.”

Tiger Woods and Charlie have competed together once before. The duo took part in the same tournament back in 2020. Woods and his 11-year-old son placed seventh in that outing.

The tournament starts on December 16, 2021, in Orlando, Florida. While he’s been spotted training and working on his game, this will be his first competition. He appeared to walk without any difficulty in a recent video. Tiger Woods can’t think of a better way to mark his comeback than playing with his son.
