Taylor Swift is unquestionably a Queen. Her reign over the music industry shows no signs of abating. However, Taylor has been recently chastised for using her fan base as a weapon.

Scooter Braun recently claimed that he has no problems with Taylor Swift, but he does have issues with her outspoken followers. In an interview with MSNBC, Scooter Braun discussed his dispute with Taylor Swift. Scooter told Ari Melber that he believes the “Style” singer has “every right” to re-record her original tracks and “pursue her masters,” which Scooter’s media company, Ithaca Holdings, purchased for $300 million in 2019.

Despite Taylor’s public criticism of Scooter’s business decision, Scooter stated that he has no hatred toward the Grammy Award winner. But he says that she’s “weaponizing” her fans.

“I wish her nothing but well, and I have zero interest in saying anything bad about her, because I’ve never said anything bad about her in the past and I won’t start now. The only thing I disagree with is weaponizing a fanbase.”

Scooter, whose superstar clients include Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, and Demi Lovato, among others, continued, “The artists I work with have very large fan bases. You don’t do that. It’s very dangerous. There’s people in that fan base who have mental health issues. There’s families involved and I think that’s very, very dangerous. I know the artists that sometimes will weaponize to say, ‘I know what it’s like to be ridiculed.’ I think that’s a very dangerous thing and I think that there’s a responsibility with a fanbase.”

Reporter Ari Melber then asked him, “And you think that has happened?” To which Scooter replied, “That’s all I’ll say about that.” However, the music industry executive also stated that “narratives” claiming that he bought Taylor’s music from Scott Borchetta’s Big Machine Label Group without her knowledge or approval are false.
