Lil Nas X is no stranger to creating attention for himself. That was very clear on SNL this week. The rapper had quite a wardrobe malfunction that was noticed by everyone.

During a performance of his song MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name), Lil Nas X’s pants couldn’t take his dance moves, so they split — literally. They split down the front of his pants to make the situation even more awkward.

This took place as Lil Nas X was using a stripper pole during his routine. He dropped it low and that’s when his pants couldn’t take it anymore.

Nas X is a professional, so he grabbed his crotch while channeling his best Michael Jackson. He continued and then looked right into the camera while carrying on with the song. The studio audience at 30 Rockefeller Plaza certainly got an interesting show.

After the show, Lil Nas X tweeted out saying: “NOT MY PANTS RIPPED ON LIVE ON TV.” He later added, “OMFG NO… I wanted to do my pole routine so bad this what I get lmaoo.” He later tweeted out to ensure fans that this was not part of his planned act.

i know i do a lot of planned shit but ripping my pants on live television is not one of them

Lil Nas X puts on one heck of a stage show. Odds are he will make sure that his costume people use a double stitch method next time, especially in the crotch of his pants.
